Vice-Chancellor Nrupatunga Sahitya Awardee Sanskrit & Kannada Scholar

A towering figure in Indian classical scholarship, Prof. Mallepuram G. Venkatesh has devoted more than four decades to the study, teaching, and preservation of Sanskrit and Kannada literary traditions. His prolific body of work — over sixty authored volumes, landmark translations, and a defining treatise on Kavya Shastra — has shaped how a generation of scholars read Indian poetics. As former Vice-Chancellor of Karnataka Samskrit University and Dean of Kannada University, Hampi, he brings to VCBT a rare union of institutional leadership, literary authority, and a lifelong devotion to cultural stewardship.

Prof. S.C. Sharma stands among India's most accomplished academic administrators and research scientists. Across four decades in engineering, materials science, and higher-education governance, he has led some of the country's most respected institutions — most recently as Director of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), and earlier as Vice-Chancellor of Tumkur University and CSVTU Bhilai. With 500+ peer-reviewed publications, an h-index of 88, and fourteen honorary doctorates to his name, he embodies the meeting point of world-class research, policy vision, and institutional excellence that the GSAC exists to champion at VCBT.
